Unforgettable Scenes from the Original Film

„Oh, okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you.
You… go to your closet, and you select… I don’t know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you’re trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back, but what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis, it’s actually cerulean.

  • Andy compliments Emily, telling her she looks thin, and Emily responds by revealing her secret.
„When I feel like I’m about to faint, I eat a cube of cheese.”
And then she says:
„I’m just one stomach flu away from my goal weight.“

  • Andy’s transformation also left a lasting impression. In the following gallery, you can see some of her looks from the film, accompanied by Madonna’s song „Vogue“.

Marketing of the Second Film

This post focuses on the exceptional marketing of the new film and how viral moments are deliberately used on social media to promote it. The emphasis here is on the marketing, which differs from the usual promotion of films of a similar scale. Even though the feedback so far has been very positive and the actors from the first installment, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, will return for the sequel, some releases have still caused frustration among fans. More on that at the end.

  • June 2025: 20th Century Studios announced on Instagram that production had begun. The announcement was accompanied by a short clip showing two red high heels with trident-shaped heels. The clip also features quotes from the first film.

  • Summer 2025: First images from the set have been released: Anne Hathaway appears as Andy Sachs in stylish outfits, including a patterned maxi dress and a light colored hat. The photos were taken by paparazzi and quickly found their audience on Instagram and other platforms.
  • Scenes were filmed during Milan Fashion Week, including the Dolce & Gabbana show in September 2025, where Meryl Streep appears as Miranda Priestly and Stanley Tucci as Nigel in the audience. This appearance also serves as a backdrop and promotion, a clever fusion of film and the fashion world.

So is the Devil now wearing Dolce & Gabbana?
  • Heidi Klum was spotted on set in New York, having previously appeared in a small role in 2006, where she only played herself. 20 years later, Heidi Klum is known not just as a model in Europe and the USA, but also as a TV host, entertainer, and entrepreneur.
  • The first trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 dropped unexpectedly on social media in November 2025, impressing audiences with its iconic nods to the original film.
  • The second trailer is scheduled to be released in February 2026. Fan reactions remain overwhelmingly enthusiastic.
  • In March, the film poster will be released, and the start date will be set for April 30. Previously, May 1 had always been communicated.

  • Anna Wintour appears alongside Meryl Streep on the May cover of American Vogue. Titled “Seeing Double – When Miranda met Anna,” the campaign marks the final stage of the film’s marketing rollout. Meanwhile, the cast has already embarked on an international press tour, generating global buzz.

  • As in the scene described from the first film, Meryl Streep gives an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, in which she wears a cerulean knit sweater that strongly resembles the one from the original film. In the context of the movie’s marketing so far, this can hardly be a coincidence.

What do you think, will the film truly live up to its massive marketing budget?

Many paparazzi photos circulated widely online and quickly became popular, but were also criticized at the same time. They contributed to the frustration described at the beginning of the article. They reduce the sense of anticipation and any chance of being surprised. The question remains whether such images, marketing strategies, and trailers are necessary to generate hype and ultimately achieve commercial success. Whether The Devil Wears Prada 2 has already used up all its momentum in advance is difficult to judge without watching the film.

Therefore, there’s probably no way around going to see it in theaters!
